Irish student coming back from Ukraine being helped by an Irish-Polish company.

The Medical Poland Admissions Office’s team are heading to the Polish-Ukrainian border to collect Rachael Diyaolu, a young Carlow medical student stuck in Ukraine and help her get home to Ireland and are in contact with her family.

“We need more doctors all over the world. That’s one of the reasons why we decided to step in and help Irish students in Ukraine. As most of our team is based in Poland, we are more than happy to provide free accommodation and food to students heading home from Ukraine” said Adam Krawczyk, Head of Medical Poland.

Ireland-founded Medical Poland is also talking to numerous Polish medical schools in an attempt to help students progress in their medical education, it ceases to charge Irish and British citizens wishing to transfer from Ukraine their fee and is looking to donate funds to help cover their fees in Poland.

“We are all for democratizing access to medical education and hoping to help those students continue their medical journey at Polish or Irish universities so that they can start helping others when they graduate. We should not ask those future doctors to start studying from scratch, wasting their talent that could be put to use” advocates Artur Banaszkiewicz, Head of Student Counselling at Medical Poland.

Medical Poland engaged a senior trainee psychotherapist, and holistic life coach to support Rachel and her family with practical tools to calm down, feel safe and build resilience when she is back home.
