Cloud computing can be defined as the unification of devices, operating systems, data and storage into a single system. This honours degree (level 8) is designed to provide the education and training required to prepare you for a career in software design, focusing specifically on Cloud computing. Cloud computing has been referred to as “climate change for IT” with a significant growth in employment opportunities in this area. The course introduces the student to various concepts of software design in the common first year. This is expanded further in second year and the first semester third year with a greater specialisation in the implementation and testing of Web and Cloud-based software solutions using the latest technologies. In the final year of the programme the student undertakes further specialised modules in Cloud Computing and completes a major project.
