The Business Studies degree course is designed to give you an introduction to the foundations of business and guide you to a specialisation in economics, management, finance, marketing or HR.

Since the 1980s, the programme has continually adapted to reflect business studies theory and, especially, developments in business practice in the real world. Through elements such as business simulations and new enterprise development projects, we set out to stimulate and foster imaginative thinking among our graduates, giving you the skills to arrive at solutions to business problems.

The four-year course includes an optional 11-month paid work placement that gives you the opportunity to experience working in a real business environment. Alternatively, you can opt to spend a year at one of our partner universities in Europe.

Careers

While demand for graduates with general management skills remains strong, your career choice is likely to be influenced by your choice of final year specialism.

Or, inspired by your work experience during the course and by the entrepreneurial spirit fostered in the degree, you may choose to start you own venture.

This course is also suitable for those who ultimately wish to pursue a career in teaching.
